Jean Francois Detaille is the founder of A.F.I. he grew up in a small town in Belgium. Born in 1960, He started his sport activities at the early age with gymnastics. Later he competed internationally in Judo with the champion team in his country, black belt in Judo and Karate Jean Francois was introduced to the martial arts in boarding school. Jean Francois’ town had no stores selling gym equipment so he had to built his own from scratch, welding bench press apparatus and other exercises props to fit his personal needs out of his parent garage turned gym facility . In 1980 Jean Francois travelled to Venice Beach California and experienced Muscle Beach at its prime, because his stature and gymnastics experience Calisthenics was what JF was excelling into. He then met a young aerobics instructor at Jackie Sorensen’s Jazzercise, both also attended Jane Fonda Workout on Ventura Blvd Los Angeles. At his return Jean Francois started his own form of Aerobics he called “Aerobic Tonic” and opened a few Studios and classes in Belgium, the studios were called Body Language.
He quickly grew an attendance of 15,000 plus clientele in his different locations. In 1983 JF sold his studios to move to the US to start A.F.I with the idea to not own locations but be within other people walls with patented, branded and copyrighted methods.
A.F.I promotes à mind body experience to Corporate 500 Companies Worldwide, boot camp events and flash mob fitness happenings. The A.F.I Instructors utilize Licensed programs to spread the craze, a few programs offered are: Get Ninja Fit, Legion 101, Xtrm Fitness, HITT it, Trans-Form. BOOST, Ketone Power Unlimited… and others.
